There is much you can do other than soak in the hot tub, enjoy the food and sleep in luxurious comfort at The Sunflowers by the Sea. Check out these ideas for how to fill your days:
Take a romantic stroll along 4km (2.5 miles) of beautiful
seashore. Watch the sun set over the water. Kick off your shoes,
walk through sand that looks like it should be in the tropics and let
the waves kiss your toes. Or jump right in the warmest waters north of
Virginia Beach! A 10 minute stroll from the B&B will put you on
la
Plage de l'Aboiteau - Aboiteau
Beach. Picture yourself on the beach in our Image Gallery.
Experience the finest of Acadian culture when you vist the
local towns of Cap-Pele - the heart of l'Acadie - or Shediac
- the lobster capital of
the world! We are located at the edge of Cap Pelé and only minutes from
Shediac. And, of course, you'll have plenty of opportunity to eat all
the fresh seafood you could want!
Question: What do you get when the world's highest tide is funneled by a narrowing bay? Answer: The Tidal Bore. A 30 minute drive to the city of Moncton will let you watch the river rise 7.5m (25') in just an hour and the initial surge of the incoming tide actually causes the water in the river to reverse direction and roll upstream!
While in Moncton you can also visit world famous Magnetic Hill where vehicles have rolled up hill for over a century! You can also explore the wild side at The Magnetic Hill Zoo or get worked up and cool off at Magic Mountain Water Park - Atlantic Canada's largest water park.
The highest tides in the world don't just cause water to flow
upriver, they also carve the rocky cliffs into bizarre formations known
as Flowerpot Rocks. When the tide rolls out you can actually walk on
the ocean bottom and explore these amazing natural formations at Hopewell
Rocks Park a short hour drive away. Take a look at them in
our Image Gallery.
If you take a trip to visit Hopewell
Rocks then go just a bit further along the Fundy coast and visit the historical site of Cape Enrage.
Offering one of the most spectacular views of the Bay of Fundy, you can
also visit the 150 year old lighthouse, pictured on the left. You could
also try rapelling down the cliffs, or descend their beach staircase to the fossil-strewn ocean floor, exposed at low tide.
Take a drive to Prince Edward Island, the home of "Anne of Green Gables", over Confederation Bridge. Only 40 minutes from The Sunflowers by the Sea and you are on the bridge! We are close enough for you to stay with us and tour PEI as a day trip.
Go for a trail ride, or enjoy an evening wagon ride followed by dinner. Either way you are only minutes from D&D Stables.
If golf is your game be sure to bring your clubs! We are only minutes from New Brunswick's only 36-hole course: Pine Needles Golf & Country Club.
